DYSLEXIA TUTORING FOR CHILDREN AGED 8 - 16

1-2-1 Dyslexia Tutoring Sessions

My tutoring sessions are designed using a structured, multi-sensory approach to support children with dyslexia. This approach is systematic and personalized, focusing on identifying any gaps in the child’s prior knowledge and addressing them in ways that align with how the child learns best. By tapping into their strengths and interests, I ensure that each session is engaging and motivating, creating a learning environment where children feel confident to move forward at their own pace.

In my sessions, I incorporate a wide variety of multi-sensory tools, these tactile and visual materials help reinforce key concepts in reading and writing, allowing the child to experience learning through multiple senses. This hands-on approach is particularly effective for children with dyslexia.

Having worked in mainstream education, specialist speech and language provisions, and special needs schools, I’ve had the opportunity to develop and refine my methods for teaching children with a range of learning needs. This background has provided me with the experience to adapt lessons to fit each child’s unique learning style. I don’t just focus on traditional teaching techniques; I create dynamic, engaging sessions that include activities indoors and outdoors, incorporating movement, play, and creativity. This ensures that children stay motivated and are able to connect with the material in ways that make sense to them.

Through these personalised, multi-sensory sessions, I am able to support children with dyslexia by not only addressing their academic needs but also building their confidence and helping them develop essential skills that will enable them to become independent, successful learners.
